Responsibilities:

• Oversee the overall accounting function, including the preparation of financial statements, financial planning and analysis, budgeting, cash flow management, and management accounts.
• Lead and manage the accounting and finance team to ensure smooth day-to-day operations of all accounting and financial activities.
• Manage the re-engineering of the accounting system, including the general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets, and inventory functions.
• Review and interpret balance sheets and monthly financial statements.
• Contribute to the direction and implementation of financial and accounting systems, policies, and procedures that promote strong commercial management and ensure effective internal controls.
• Assist in reviewing areas such as cash and banking management, banking facilities, foreign exchange exposure, and working capital management.
• Ensure the timely preparation of monthly financial and management accounts in compliance with statutory requirements and relevant Financial Reporting Standards (FRS).
• Provide coaching and mentoring to subordinates.
• Handle any ad-hoc tasks or analyses requested by management as needed.

Requirements:

• Possess a MICPA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA, or a degree in Accountancy, and be a member of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA).
• At least 10 years of working experience in accounting, with a minimum of 4 to 5 years in a managerial capacity within a large organization.
• Strong analytical skills in financial variance analysis and management reporting.
• Able to work independently and under pressure, with a proactive approach to challenges.
• Strong initiative in identifying issues and proposing effective solutions.
• High level of analytical aptitude with the ability to highlight key issues to management.
• A strong team leader capable of inspiring a team toward common goals.
• Excellent financial analysis, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
• Familiarity with Financial Reporting Standards (FRS).
• Managerial experience as an external auditor in a reputable audit firm is an added advantage.
